Battle is a way of obtaining additional rewards for completing certain tasks. Same mechanic appears in Conan. From this page of the guide you'll learn what there is to learn about Battle es.
Battle
Once you're in-game, enter the inventory, and then choose Battle tab. It is there where you'll find your current Battle level and rewards for the next levels.
Once you amass 1000 XP, you ascend to a new level and receive rewards. Unfortunately, if you go without Battle (which is a paid function) you can only claim rewards that are marked with Free. If you want to get access to better rewards, you need to buy the for special currency - Crom Coins. You need as much as 1200 of them.
You can also buy Battle for 3000 coins. This will unlock all 15 levels of the and allow you to claim all rewards from 1-15 levels.
How to amass Battle XP?
To ascend to higher Battle levels, you need to amass special experience points. Enter the Challenges tab to view a list of daily tasks. They differ in rarity (uncommon, normal, rare, and legendary) and difficulty level. The better rarity of a task, the more XP you'll get. Completing a challenge is rewarded with as much XP as is shown in the upper part of the mission portrait.
There is also an option to shuffle challenges with hope of receiving more viable ones. You can do that up to 3 times.
