Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault for PS4, PC and etc. is an economical strategy game. The player is taken to a post-apocalyptic world, where humanity has locked itself in city-fortresses, protected against external threats. The game was developed by Acquire, a Japanese studio established in 1994, known from ninja-oriented series such as Shinobido. Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault debuted in 2015 on Japanese markets, but the reception was pretty weak – the game managed to get back on its feet through a release on Western markets.

Plot

Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault takes place in near future, in a world devastated by a cataclysm known as “silent apocalypse”. This vague term was used to describe an invasion of huge monsters that destroyed the Earth and decimated its population. Some humans managed to survive by hiding in city-fortresses, and now engage in uneven war with the creatures. The game offers a complex storyline, and a number of heroes that are introduced through numerous cut-scenes with an art style known from visual novels.
