An action platformer that is a continuation of Dimension Drive. In Aeon Drive, we play the role of Jackelyne, who travels through stages full of traps, teleporting through obstacles and constantly fighting against time, trying to find the faulty elements of a machine for flexing dimensions.
Aeon Drive is an action platformer developed by the independent team of 2Awesome Studio. The game continues the story that began in a shmup published in 2018 under the title Dimension Drive.
The main heroine of Aeon Drive is a space pilot known from the game Dimension Drive named Jackelyne. The heroine goes to cyberpunk Barcelona, where she has to find the faulty elements of the machine used to flex the dimensions; without them, the space-time structure of the universe can be shaken.
At Aeon Drive, we observe the action from the side-scroll perspective. The game consists of more than eighty levels, among which we can find places associated with Barcelona, headed by Las Ramblas and Park Güell, or even Arc de Triomf and Torre Glories. As we walk through them, we jump on platforms and avoid countless traps, lasers, spikes and circular saws, we destroy selected field obstacles with the help of the heroine's great sword, and we teleport ourselves at short distances, making use of a special dagger. This is complicated by the fact that we have a limited time to complete a given stage; however, we can increase the stock with the help of the capsules we get along the way. As our actions are judged by the scoring system, which encourages us to polish our skills and improve the results, the game is characterized by high replayability.
Aeon Drive has colourful two-dimensional graphics made in pixel art technique. The game has been equipped with streaming tools.

If you enjoy fast-paced 2D action games where you try to complete levels as quickly as possible then you'll absolutely love everything that Aeon Drive has to offer. In fact, as it stands, it's one of the best indie games that I've played in a very long time.

If cyberpunk was the genre of 2020, time loops are undoubtedly the flavor of the second half of 2021. Aeon Drive subtly throws its pixelated hat into the proverbial zeitgeist with its fast-paced, pinpoint-accurate platforming that is as addicting and, at times, satisfyingly frustrating as any quality masocore title out there. Aeon Drive is a speedrunner's dream, offering hours of replayability for completionists and those looking to have their name atop online leaderboards.

Aeon Drive isn’t a perfect game, but it has a lot going for it. It features precise platforming, lush graphics, and an interesting premise. Sure the plot isn’t as well-realized as I hoped, and the game even ends on a serious cliffhanger ending (again), but I still think this is an adventure that fans of the original will appreciate. It’s different, but not in any ways that hurt my enjoyment. Here’s hoping 2Awesome Studio keeps up the good work, and that this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Jack and V.E.R.A.
