Amid Evil is an FPS, which refers to classic FPSs from the 90's, such as Doom, Hexen or Unreal. The game offers several different maps, full of dangerous enemies to kill and secrets to find. The independent Polish studio Indefatigable, founded by Dawid Szymanski, the dev of the well received shooter DUSK, is responsible for developing the title. The publisher is New Blood Interactive.
Amid Evil is a classic shooter, in which we observe the action from first-person perspective. The game is mainly about exploring locations and eliminating legions of dangerous enemies. The players can expect several maps with different styles and enemies. The levels are quite large; there are many secrets and storytelling elements describing the game world.
The game offers an AI system that adapts to the player's behavior, as well as an unusual approach to weapons - these are magical artifacts that we can charge with the help of the souls of defeated adversaries, enabling us to significantly increase our combat capabilities.
The gameplay can be additionally adjusted to your expectations, using a set of codes and options inside the game.
Amid Evil can be played only solo. The mainstay of the gameplay is the single-player campaign.
Amid Evil features decent visuals powered by Unreal Engine 4. The setting adopts a retro style - just like the rest of the game, it refers to old hits such as Quake or Heretic. The side effect of this approach are relatively low hardware requirements. The game is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult.
