A turn-based strategy made in a style of a horror. The story of Anoxia Station takes places in the year 1988, after a supervolcano eruption. We must manage a mining station, trying to gather resources needed for the humanity's survival. An important part of the game is to manage our subordinates, as they may be hostile towards each other or have other plans.
Anoxia Station is a strategy Loretta to his credit.
Anoxia Station tells an alternative history in which there was a supervolcano eruption and the Earth's surface is now becoming increasingly unsuitable for life. Although humanity does not give up, in 1988 the conditions prevailing on the once blue globe deteriorate so much that the greatest chance for survival are the so-called terranauts. We're talking about miners who venture deep beneath the surface in search of invaluable oil deposits, crucial for maintaining infrastructure and life on the surface.
During the game, we take control of a group of terranauts, and our task is not only to locate a huge deposit of life-giving resources, but also to ensure the safety of our subordinates. This is not easy, as the threat to them comes from both the conditions prevailing underground and their mutual animosities.
In Anoxia Station we watch events in an isometric view. The gameplay takes place in turn-based mode, on procedurally generated maps. We must manage a group of terranauts from various countries. A huge, initially abandoned mining station, serves as their headquarters.
We start the game by choosing the character of the leader and his crew. As citizens of the Soviet Union, the United States, or Japan, our subordinates maintain the appearance of cooperation, while at the same time each of them may remain loyal to their own country. Individual miners are able to pursue their own secret plans and satisfy individual ambitions, which in extreme cases leads to sabotage of our operations.
It's our responsibility to ensure that their constant smoldering rivalry doesn't turn into something bigger. The death of each miner is permanent in the game. It can have tragic consequences not only for our facility, but also for all of humanity.
Miners and their disagreements are not the only reason for concern for us. Under the surface of the earth, truly murderous conditions prevail, and heat, extreme pressure, radiation, or moving layers of rock are all potential deadly traps.
As if that wasn't enough, the deeper we venture in search of the legendary oil deposit, the more dangerous the environment becomes and the less understandable threats we have to face. Over time, we discover that we are not alone here. The creatures living underground (led by oversized worms) are not friendly towards us, which forces us to develop means of defense and confronting them.
