Ash of Gods: Arena is a tactical RPG with elements of collector's card games developed and released by Russian studio Aurum Dust. The game focuses on collecting an increasingly powerful team and expanding its collection of devastating cards.
Ash of Gods: Arena is a standalone version of AoG: Redemption multiplayer mode. Based on the prose of Sergei Malicki, a tactical RPG with elements of collectible card games. As in the case of previous series, Aurum Dust is responsible for production and release.
The story in Ash of Gods: Arena remains unchanged from AoG: Redemption. It is based on the prose of Sergei Malicki, who for the purposes of the series and the book created a world called Terminium. The action of Arena is integrated into Redemption's feature events, focusing exclusively on the battlefield aspect.
The combat system is no different from Ash of Gods: Redemption. The battles between players take place on various arenas divided into squares, on which set up warriors move. The fight takes place in a turn-based system and the order in which the units move is determined by the amount of energy they have.
Various characters have specific classes that affect their statistics, combat skills or behaviour during battle. As with Redemption, each of the fighters has five statistics that determine their attack strength, defense, life, energy or counterattack. During the battle, the player has access to a previously arranged card deck, which can more or less influence the outcome of the battle.
The main idea of Ash of Gods: Arena is to extract the multiplayer mode from Redemption and then improve it for PvP. The gameplay is therefore exclusively focused on skirmishes between players in multiplayer mode. It is worth noting that the progress of collecting cards or Redemption warriors will not be included in the creation on Ash of Gods: Arena.
Ash of Gods: Arena, like Redemption, uses two-dimensional visuals in the style of Disney's old school cartoons and the creation of the Soviet animation studio Soyuzmultfilm from the 1960s. Animation of characters in battle scenes was created using Motion Capture technology. As a result, players receive hand-drawn graphics using bright colors, but in a style that harmonizes with the gloomy atmosphere of the presented world. The soundtrack composed by Adam Skorupa, Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz and Michal Cielecki is also worth mentioning.
