Assemble with Care is a puzzle game realized as an interactive diary. The game was developed by an independent studio ustwo games, known for its bestselling Monument Valley series.
The main character of Assemble with Care is Maria, a world traveling antique restorer, who arrives in the sunny town of Bellariva. She decides to help its residents to repair their old and ruined belongings. At the same time, she gets to know each of the residents better, so she can also them in solving their problems.
The main element of the Assemble with Care is to solve puzzles consisting in repairing various objects. Although the initial puzzles are not complicated (for example, we have to replace the batteries in the walkman and stretch the tape in the cassette), with time they become more and more difficult, requiring us to disassemble watches, cameras or "electronic games", replace damaged components and then put everything together. Between the riddles we listen to Maria's story and gradually get to know the stories and problems of the residents of Bellariva.
The hand-drawn graphic design of Assemble with Care was maintained in a colourful impressionist-inspired style. A soundtrack based on music from the 1980s was composed for the game.

In all honesty, I wish I had experienced Assemble With Care on my iPhone before playing it on my PC. I don’t regret the experience and still think this is a gem worth playing no matter what the platform, but knowing it was far more beautiful and more intuitive on another device that I own makes me wonder if I’d had a better time with this title. Still, I urge you to pick up Assemble With Care, even on PC, for a touching story about second chances with those we hold dearest to us and that, if it’s worth keeping, it’s worth fixing.
