Astonishia Story is a cRPG with a distinctive Far Eastern vibe. The game was created by a Korean studio Sonnori. The main intrigue sounds like a classic roleplaying scenario. One day someone dares to steal the Wand of Kinan, a sacred relic and symbol of good fortune and wealth. A young royal knight named Lloyd embarks on a quest to reclaim the artifact. He is the character you play in the game.
Before the hero manages to restore the relic to its place, a long road full of troubles and self-sacrifice awaits him. Much time has to until he is ready to challenge the main villain. Prior to that, you have to improve your skills in both sword fighting and magic wielding. On your journey you engage in activities typical of an RPG: gather new characters for your party, find better weapons, armor, and spells, etc. Much time you spend fighting against more and more challenging enemies. There is a wide array of them, starting with elves and bandits, through various monsters armed with mighty weapons and abilities. The combat system used in Astonishia Story is simple and intuitive, reminding of the one used in Grandia.
