Atomicrops is a combination of a farm simulator with a roguelike taking place in the postapocalyptic world.
Atomicrops is a title developed by RawFury, the team responsible for such games as Mosaic and Sable. Their new title is a combination of a farm simulator with a roguelike, like a mix of Stardew Valley with Nuclear Throne.
After an atomic bomb exploded, the world changed and we have to survive in new conditions. The farm inherited from our uncle will help us, where we care about constant access to crops full of delicious GMO. However, we must be careful, because the side effect of the tragedy is the emergence of feral mutated monsters willing to consume our guts (or crops). What's more, we will have to explore the wilderness, where we discover a lot of things that make our lives easier.
The main element of the game is planting various strange plants that give us food. The list includes a hyperactive carrot, a smiling family of green peas and lettuce with a disatema. Animal companions in the form of pigs, cows, or hens help us in the cultivation of plants, improving and automating many activities related to cultivation of crops. On the other hand, if we feel that we need even more strange seeds of plants, we will have to journey into the wilderness. We can also discover a lot of treasures there. Books that give us an insight into secret farming techniques, rusty tools that, after renovation, will work as new and antique garden accessories that will make your work a pleasure.
The second key aspect of the game is the combat. This one is very arcade and taken from twin-stick shooters, such as the aforementioned Nuclear Throne or HellDivers. The main enemy here are big insects, which will notoriously come to our farm. Any opponent we kill can then be transformed into fertilizer to accelerate the growth of seedlings.
However, even in a post-apocalyptic world, there couldn't be a lack of ways to relieve the loneliness of the main character. That is why we have an opportunity to enter a deeper relationship with one of the NPCs from the surrounding village to get him/her in front of the altar and take the oath of marriage. It is also a good solution in of ease of play, because unlike many games with a wedding element, our spouse, instead of sitting uselessly at home, helps on the farm and s us on our expeditions.
The game is maintained in very vivid and slightly psychedelic colors, emphasizing the absurdity of the world, which from the beginning does not want to be taken seriously. The whole thing was created with the use of pixel-art technique.

Game Ratings for Atomicrops Video Game.
Nindie Spotlight: 9 / 10 by Justin Nation
For me, Atomicrops is a story of early frustration, followed by a slow warming up, which eventually became a pretty deep and addictive love...
GameGrin: 8 / 10 by Jamie Davies
Atomicrops is frenetic, challenging and addicting in the way that all the best roguelike/lites are, with a silly streak that helps give the title its own identity. A lack of content does harm the game's longevity.
God is a Geek: 6.5 / 10 by Nicola Ardron
Atomicrops is an action-packed rogue-like farming simulator crossed with a frenetic twin-stick shooter. It is filled with good humour and some interesting systems, but the perma-death feels a little out of sorts with the idea of growing things.
