Mechanics

Automachef is a puzzle game, in which we have to manage production chains in a limited space. The game is about completing various missions, in which we have specific main objectives and optional ones.

Each mission has 3 types of objectives. We have to serve X meals, we need to have energy consumption less than X and we cannot use more ingredients than X. The most important guideline and necessary to the challenge is the need to serve all meals - the others are optional. Of course, we must also not to go over budget.

However, meeting these goals is often made difficult. Depending on the mission we can encounter different dangers. For example, our machines will catch fire if the products are roasting for too long, or there will be an insect plague. Sometimes we cannot exceed a certain energy limit, otherwise it blows a fuse and we lose the game. There are several possibilities. We also have to about the reputation of our kitchen - if we don't serve meals on time, it will drop. If it reaches 0, the scenario will also end in failure.

To achieve success, we must master the art of creating production chains in a limited space. Our task is not only to appropriately place machines, which will chop, fry and grill raw products, but also to take care of efficient delivery of ingredients from place to place. Ultimately, everything has to reach the customer.

These can differ. There are various types of orders and depending on the type, customers can be more understanding and will wait longer for their meal or be impatient. If we are serving food to restaurant customers, they are able to wait longer and we do not have to serve them in order. If customers expect fast service, they will count on short delivery times and will be less patient. With drive-through orders, on the other hand, we have to take our time and do them sequentially. There are also special customers - the critics. They expect their dishes to appear instantly, and if we don't provide them with what they want, we face a considerable drop in reputation.

However, the developers didn't just aim to make our lives difficult - a set of tools helps us in deg the kitchen. We can move machines freely and without obstacles (and costs). In addition, it is very easy to create schemes of working systems creating some type of food and use them in different missions. There are also devices and options that allow us to condition the operation of the kitchen. At any time we can also test the production lines we have created in order to catch errors.

Game modes

Game offers 3 game modes. First of them is the campaign, where we get to know the story of a friendly robot who wants to take over the world. We can also play in career mode, where we choose orders, work on our reputation and collect funds for better machines. There is also a sandbox mode, where we can test different ideas. Those willing can also create their own scenarios in the workshop.

Automachef is a single player game.
