An economic strategy game which is the first work from the Twice Circle studios. You become a director of a pharmaceutical company and try to “conquer” the market. You begin your career only with some rusty machines, capable of creating simple medicines to cure the most common afflictions. As your company grows, you are investing in better equipment and personnel.
Big Pharma for PC is an economic strategy game about running a pharmaceutical company. It is the first creation from the studio Twice Circled, but the PC version was produced with help of Positech Games which is a company known for Gratuitious Space Battles and Democracy series.
The player becomes a director of a small company with an ambition to “conquer” the market. Your task is to conduct research on medicines which will save millions, decrease suffering all over the world… and give you a large profit at the same time. The latter is your top priority so being an altruist isn’t a good option. Less effective medicines are just more profitable and curing all diseases would have very bad impact on your business.
You begin your career only with some rusty machines, capable of creating medicines to cure light afflictions. When you start making money, you invest in better equipment and personnel. They allow you to discover new active ingredients and revolutionary technologies which can be used to create groundbreaking medicines. Of course, you need to keep balance in your company’s growth, so that expenses and revenues are more or less equal.
However, the whole thing cannot be too easy, so on your way to the top you must be aware of the competitors who regularly release their own medicines. Moreover, the virtual market is constantly changing. Some changes are caused by the competition and some are just results of ing time. For example, your revolutionary pills against influenza won’t attract many consumers in the middle of summer and you can’t expect to get good sell results of an anti-aging sunscreen cream during winter.
Apart from strategy mechanics, Big Pharma for PC contains also some puzzle elements. Space in labs is expensive so making use of it in one hundred per cent quickly becomes your top priority and you spent a lot of time on figuring out optimal deployment of machines in your facility.

Big Pharma: Marketing & Malpractice enriches the player’s company with a marketing branch whose employees are limited by almost no ethical principles. They can resort to such practices as bribing doctors into prescribing our products to their patients or organizing social campaigns to convince people that they are sick and only our medicines can cure them. Other noteworthy features include the possibility of conducting clinical tests (and to falsify their results) and manually setting the prices of medicines as well as an expanded list of equipment that we can buy for our factories. Moreover, the game is enriched by perks - unique traits of our company that significantly influence our later activities.
