A combination of cRPG and building strategy. The action has been set in the reality of fantasy, and the player plays the role of a daredevil, who not only has to cope with many dangerous tasks, but also deals with the transformation of the terrain, building objects and manufacturing objects. The game was created by independent studio Mind Blocks.
Block Story is an attempt by an independent Mind Block studio team to expand popular building strategies with cRPG elements. Fascinated by Minecraft and MMORPGs, the developers decided to enrich the proven formula of building the world from cubic solids with aspects related to the plot and development of the protagonist's character.
Block Story is set in the reality of fantasy with the ixture of science fiction. The player plays the role of a daredevil who travels through unknown lands, completing the tasks assigned to him, fighting monsters, erecting various constructions and producing necessary items.
The game offers 25 missions to complete. Most often they concern killing one of the bosses, finding the indicated objects or building construction according to specific criteria. As befits a sandbox, the developers left players a lot of freedom of action, including transforming the virtual world.
In the gameplay a lot of emphasis has been put on RPG elements. By fighting enemies (there are more than 80 types of enemies in the game, including dragons, skeletons and predatory fish) and completing quests, the hero gains experience, which allows him to develop his skills. The creators have not forgotten about the rich assortment of weapons, armour and items that can be produced by themselves or bought from NPCs). There are also means of transport, including cars, boats and even jet rucksacks.
In comparison to competing productions (e.g. Minecraft, Ace of Spades, Guncraft), it stands out due to its attractive visual setting, generated with the use of the popular Unity engine. Despite the fact that the game world is built of cubic blocks, the creators managed to avoid the effect of a clear pixelization of the image.
