Blood West: Dead Man's Promise is an expansion to the 2023 immersive sim with horror and western elements, titled Blood West. The add-on was developed by the Polish studio Hyperstrange, which also created the base version of the game.

Story

The main character of Blood West: Dead Man's Promise is Father Twen. The protagonist is faced with the necessity of repaying his debt to the God of Death, and it's up to us to help him bring all the lost souls to his patron.

It's worth noting that although we had the opportunity to meet the main character of the add-on in the base game, its completion is not required to understand the story told here. Nevertheless, the creators recommend at least finishing the second chapter of the main campaign.

Gameplay

Father Twen is a shaman, so on the battlefield he uses not only melee weapons and firearms, but above all staves, which allow him to attack enemies with magical missiles or summon servants to fight for him.

Blood West: Dead Man's Promise also introduces previously unseen enemies, led by adversaries that attack both the hero's body and his mind. Moreover, while exploring the location prepared for this DLC, we also get to know ordinary, friendly and sometimes needy residents, for whom we can perform quests.

As we progress, we accumulate an increasingly powerful arsenal, as well as unlock various perks and skills. They include health regeneration through devouring trophies or the aforementioned summoning of minions to the battlefield.
