Boomerang X

Boomerang X is a dynamic action game in the FPP convention, where the only weapon to eliminate hordes of enemies is the magic boomerang. New York-based independent studio DANG! is responsible for the game and was inspired by classic shooters based on repelling successive waves of monsters.

Mechanics

The story in Boomerang X doesn't exist - the game is an arena-based FPS, focused exclusively on fighting with the magical boomerang. The devs based their work, among others, on the "hellish" Devil Daggers shooter, but in this case the place of action is mainly disturbing forests.

The main goal is to survive and eliminate successive waves of monsters and bizarre creatures that want to devour the main character. In addition to the deadly weaponry, the character is equipped with supernatural abilities: teleportation, slow motion, instant dodge, and the ability to jump to great heights, which facilitate battles with overwhelmingly hostile creatures from another world. In order to survive, the player should be on the move, capturing the weak points of the monsters.
