Mechanics

Borderlands , Borderlands 2 , Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3 are first-person looter shooters. The playable characters differ in of their classes, preferred weapons and abilities. Players must complete main missions and side quests, traversing large, diverse locations (on foot or in vehicles), facing down hordes of enemies; aside from regular foes we'll also face powerful bosses. Our mostly futuristic roster of weapons is very diverse as well. As we progress through the game, we develop our characters and acquire better weapons; they're randomly generated, differ in stats and unique properties, making it near impossible to find two identical guns.

Tales from the Borderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands are narrative adventure games - the former was developed by Telltale Games, while the latter retains its formula. Most of the gameplay is spent traversing locations, following the story, talking to characters and making choices that impact the course of the plot. There are also some arcade elements, QTEs and minigames.

Game modes

Tales from the Borderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands only singleplayer, while Borderlands , Borderlands 2 , Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3 co-op for up to four people.
