Born of Bread is a game with an RPG and adventure elements. The game was developed by an independent Canadian team WildArts Studio. The source of inspiration for the authors was above all the Paper Mario series.

Plot

Born of Bread takes us on a journey to a fantastic world, which is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. The main character of the story is Loaf, a golem made of flour. The protagonist explores the land in the company of his animal friends and tries to defeat the evil creatures from the past who have come here to wreak havoc.

Mechanics

Born of Bread gives us a diverse world, where a number of interesting locations await us to visit, such as the mysterious ruins in the forest or the bustling South Munch City. While exploring these locations, we talk to characters we meet (some of whom eventually decide to us) and complete tasks for them. Among the missions we can find both tasks pushing the plot forward and various side quests. From time to time environmental puzzles also block our way.

We are often disturbed by enemies wandering around. Clashes with opponents take place in turn-based mode. During them an important role is played by appropriate positioning of the protagonist and his companions on the battlefield, if only so that they could defend each other. Besides, it is worth ing that particular enemies are sensitive to specific types of attacks and resistant to others. To perform an attack, we not only need to have a specific number of willpower points available, but also press the right button at the right time. As we progress, we gain better weapons, allowing us to take on greater challenges.
