A simplistic turn-based strategy game featuring RPG elements and created by Tortuga Team - a Russian developer. Braveland is set in a fantasy world and the player takes on the role of a young warrior who has managed to survive the attack of bandits that murdered the rest of his fellow villagers. The protagonist decides to set out on a journey to seek revenge on the murderers.
Braveland for PC, iOS and etc. is a turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world and enriched with RPG elements. The game was created by Tortuga Team – a Russian developer.
The story begins when a small village gets attacked by bandits who steal everything they can and murder almost everybody – the game follows the pattern of countless fantasy tales in this aspect. A young warrior is the only survivor and he sets out for a vengeance mission, having put on his father's old armor.
The campaign was divided into three episodes – each of them introduces numerous locations, characters and challenges. The game also offers a separate survival mode, which requires the player to stay alive as long as possible, when fighting endless waves of enemies. Exploring the game world has a simplified form here, because one only has to point to particular locations on the map in order to travel. In some of the locations, the player encounters fighters willing to them or merchants one can exchange goods with. In a different kinds of locations, the player has to battle the enemies in a turn-based system, on maps made of hexes. The scope of the battles is relatively small here and the player can be commanding up to five characters at a time. The protagonist does not participate in the battles directly, focusing instead on ing the subordinates with different skills.
The player encounters 25 kinds of regular enemies, as well as powerful bosses at the end of each chapter. The game rewards the player with experience points for eliminating the enemies – these are spent on upgrades for units and abilities for the protagonist. The experience was enriched with an extensive system of magic, which allows the player to cast both offensive and defensive spells.
Braveland for PC, iOS and etc. stands out with its visuals – the creators employed here an art style filled with bright colors and cartoonish-looking shapes, which makes the game a truly joyful visual experience.
