Broken Delusion is a visual novel adventure in which we play as a teenage hacker. The developer of the title is the Chinese development studio Zhaijidian. Its publisher is Bilibili, one of the largest gaming companies in China. The Company runs a popular video service, which is an equivalent of YouTube, and is responsible for the production of animations and mobile games, and is involved in running and sponsoring e-sport competitions.
Broken Delusion is set in the near future in a fictional futuristic city built with the help of advanced technology. The players play as an apparently average high school student, who after hours is an extremely talented hacker. One day, playing in cyberspace, he creates something unusual - a completely virtual person who has no right to normally exist in our world.
The game is a typical visual novel adventure. This means that we spend most of our time reading dialog lines accompanied by two-dimensional portraits of characters. In addition, the game was enriched with a few additional elements. The first one is the development system of the virtual character created by us. By choosing the right options we influence the character and personality. An important role is also played by the hacking system, which was presented in the form of an arcade mini-game. It is related to tasks that we get from various people who need our hacking skills. The players may ignore requests, but this will affect one of several available histories ends.
Broken Delusion offers a high-quality audio-visual setting, which despite the Chinese developer at first glance looks as if it was made by artists from the Japan. The spoken dialogues of the characters are available in Japanese and Chinese.
