The original California Games met the expectations of players at the time, presenting sports, which were very popular in California at the end of the eighties. We have the opportunity to ride BMX on a specially prepared track, check out the Flying disc competitions (better known as Frisbee), ride a skateboard on a specially prepared ramp, or surf.
It was obvious that the refreshed version of California Games could not appear with the visuals from 1987, when 8-bit platforms reigned. Therefore, the graphics has been improved and adapted to modern requirements, so that it does not discourage the players after the first minutes. The controls, which were very simple in their original form, were also expanded. The creators emphasize, however, that they wanted to keep the main advantage of the original, and thus the ease of use, so that also casual players can easily try their hand at a battle with more experienced people.
