Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is a sports game that is based on the license of the anime Captain Tsubasa, which was very popular in our country in the 1990s. In this title we can find numerous characters and things characteristic of that work (e.g. the "special shots"). The game is characterized by a skillful and easy to master gameplay model. The Tamsoft studio (creators of the Senran Kagura series) is responsible for its development. The publisher is Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions uses a universe known from Captain Tsubasa manga, created by Yoichi Takahashi, as well as anime under the same title. These works tell the story of the football career of a young and extremely talented Japanese - Tsubasa Ozora. In the game we can see numerous characters known from manga pages and TV screen, such as the title Tsubasa, his rival Kojiro Hyuga or goalie Genzo Wakabayashi.
Just like the anime, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions does not pay much attention to realism. The gameplay model is very arcade-style and dynamic, and the rules are easy to master for almost every player - spectacularity and fun are crucial.
During the game we can use all kinds of special manoeuvres - e.g. extremely strong or technically advanced shots (which sometimes literally tear the net in the goal and punch holes in the walls) or incredible defensive moves that are used to avoid or cheat rivals.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions offers a number of game modes - some of them we can experience alone, and others are designed for playing in multiplayer mode.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions has a nice, three-dimensional graphic design, which has been developed in such a way that the characters and the game world resemble what fans know from anime (the well-known cel-shading technique was used for this purpose). There is also no shortage of spectacular lighting effects, which accompany the actions performed by the characters. The whole thing looks pretty good and should satisfy brand lovers.
