Release Date: July 23, 2020
An action game in which we take on the role of an amorphous monster that kills people; as we progress, the monster evolves, increasing its size and acquiring new skills, allowing it to discover ever more gruesome ways to kill its victims.
Carrion is an action game, described by the authors as an "inverted horror". The production was developed by an independent Polish team Phobia Game Studio, founded by people who previously co-created the well-received BUTCHER. The game was published by Devolver Digital.
In Carrion, players assume the role of a terrifying, amorphous monster of unknown origin. Sowing terror among people locked up in a kind of prison with him, the monster gradually grows stronger, discovering more and more gruesome ways to kill its victims.
In Carrion the action is shown from the side perspective. Monster, over whom players take control, wanders through various locations such as dark undergrounds and a mysterious complex and murders terrified people. In this way the monster gradually evolves and grows in strength (but not only because its size also increases), gaining new skills.
Carrion has two-dimensional visuals made in pixel art technique. The latter, however, may be slightly misleading - due to the high brutality, the described production is intended only for adult customers.
