Mechanics

Chains of Fury is a classic FPS, whose gameplay formula refers to the famous Doom from id Software. The gameplay comes down to wandering through vast locations (several different levels have been prepared) and eliminating enemies using a rich arsenal of weapons (mainly firearms). We can also look for various kinds of secrets and collectibles.

Polish developers have set the goal of fine-tuning the classic FPS convention by removing frustrating elements and adding ideas and solutions that are hard to find in those games. An example is the extensive destruction system, which enables us to, among other things, destroy walls and doors. Instead of looking for the keys to get us somewhere, we can just kick down the gate and get on the road.

Game modes

Chains of Fury can be played solo or with others. The mainstay of the game is the single-player mode, but the developers have also prepared a local cooperation mode (on split screen).

Technical aspects

Chains of Fury features attractive visuals, designed in such a way that despite its three-dimensional character, the game seems to resemble a 2D title - more specifically, a comic book (the devs it that they were inspired by Lobo and Hellboy series, as well as Mike Mignola's illustrations). The appearance of both locations and characters, and even the effects of shots and explosions, are made to resemble comic books. There are references to numerous genres, but science fiction dominates.
