Chroma Squad is a humorous strategy game for PC, XONE and etc. inspired by low-budget TV series like Power Rangers. It has been developed by Behold studio, known for its Knights of the Pen & Paper.
Chroma Squad puts us in the role of manager of TV series from super sentai genre, in which a group of superheroes fight the evil with individual skills and superweapons (mainly mechs). The game borrows a lot from the spiritual heritage the genre; references to popular productions of 80’s and 90’s are numerous. The story campaign focuses on bunch of stuntmen, who after years of working in others’ project decide to create their own TV series. Surprisingly, the plot is rather complex and can lead to a few endings depending on our decisions.
Chroma Squad is an economic strategy with turn-based gameplay and tactical battles. We must oversee things like hiring actors, assorting their costumes and casting them. Main characters have unique development trees, through which they learn new skills and attacks between episodes. Players also have to manage hardware; buying and upgrading equipment like cameras, microphones, element of scenography and lamps is just another of their duties.
After we’re finished with preparations, it is time to start filming episodes, which take form of a tactical RPG. We lead the team of heroes through battles against more and more powerful opponents, during which we can use TV equipment for . Shooting fireworks on a stage, for example, will increase our attack strength. But recording doesn’t end our job, as we have to organize marketing campaigns, public comics and interact with fans.
Aside from the single player campaign, Chroma Squad for PC, XONE and etc. offers a multiplayer mode, in which series of different players rival each other for audience’s attention.
Chroma Squad uses simple but fitting two-dimensional retro visuals, accompanied by a catchy soundtrack.

Game Ratings for Chroma Squad Video Game.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun: by Rich Stanton
Chroma Squad is a decent game but, far more importantly, it is a little time capsule, a big tribute, and a perfect period piece for big kids.
Gaming Nexus: 8 / 10 by Chapel Collins
Even if the RPG elements are a little too shallow, Chroma Squad has great gameplay and a big ol' heart and presents it all with a smile.
Game Informer: 7 / 10 by Brian Shea
Chroma Squad is fun from the get-go, but the experience falls off as the progression systems falter and the gameplay gets repetitive
