Cloud Chasers is a mobile action-adventure game with a focus on survival elements. The production was developed by Blindflug studio and is a product meaning that it doesn't have any microtransactions.
Plot
Cloud Chasers focuses on the difficult topic of illegal immigration. To avoid being too gloomy, the idea was presented in the form of a fantastic allegory. The action takes place in a desert steampunk land, which slowly dies because of the greed of a rich caste living in flying cities. These bourgeoisie steal water from all over the world, even sucking it out from clouds, making any tillage impossible. The campaign tells the story of a father bringing up a young daughter alone. Faced with the inevitable death of thirst or hunger and the desire for a better life for his child, he decides to risk everything and set off on a dangerous journey to find a way to sneak inside one of the levitating metropolises.
Mechanics
The gameplay in Cloud Chasers focuses on the survival aspect. Our task is to break through five powerful deserts, each of which offers different difficulties and challenges. During our travels, we have to look for resources, manage them and deal with various dangers. Water extraction plays a key role. This requires the use of a flying vessel which the daughter uses extracts moisture from the clouds. These sections have arcade gameplay and require avoiding with aggressive drones owned by the bourgeoisie. We can also come across random events and the decisions made during them have a significant impact on the further course of the expedition.
Technical aspects
Cloud Chaser offers nice 3D graphics in a slightly comic style. An additional advantage is the system of random generation of deserts, making each playthrough unique.
