Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, released on NDS and 3DS, was developed by 1st Playable Productions studio, specializing in creating games based on animated films (Rio! , Yogi Bear: The Video Game and others). The game was released alongside the film with the same title.
The action of the game takes place after the events presented in the movie original. Engineer Flint Lockwood and his friends are trying to save the world from one of the failed inventions. It turns out that the infamous machine that was supposed to turn water into food still works. The only difference is that it now produces food-animal hybrids.
The essence of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is to neutralize food products thrown by aggressive hybrids. The game uses a touch screen console display. The player has only a few seconds to make the right move and destroy the incoming projectile. As the game progresses, the level of difficulty increases.
The main campaign in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 consists of 15 levels in 5 thematically diverse locations. The player can play as one of the 6 available characters (including Flint Lockwood, Sam Sparks and Chester V), each with a different special skill. The developers have also prepared two additional game modes - challenge and lab.
The creators of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 tried to make the game look like the movie. Fans of the animation should easily recognize their favorite characters, as well as characteristic places. The game is accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack, which blends well with the humorous convention of the game.
