A detective adventure game developed by a Polish studio called LivinThing. In CodeRed: Agent Sarah’s Story a player assumes the role of an FBI special agent and runs an investigation aimed at arresting an incredibly dangerous villain, who is planning to detonate a bomb in New York City. Gameplay mechanics combine an interactive story with management elements, logical puzzles, and minigames such as locating hidden objects.

CodeRed: Agent Sarah's Story is an adventure game created by the home development studio LivinThing. The PC edition of this title was based on the browser version, which debuted in 2016 and soon afterwards was closed.

Story

In the game we play the role of a special agent of the FBI - the title Sara Young, who heads a cell for terrorism in the agency, and we become participants of a wide-ranging investigation aimed at capturing an extremely dangerous terrorist. The situation is complicated by the fact that there are only 3 days left to the bomb explosion in New York announced by the criminal. The decisive factor for the success of the investigation is the avalanche of time and the question of whether we will be able to obtain information about the bomb location in time and protect the vibrant, multi-million metropolis from a real nuclear annihilation.

Mechanics

Game mechanics in the game CodeRed combines an interactive story with elements of economics, numerous logic puzzles and mini-games such as "hidden objects", although players will also find arcade elements such as car chases or shooting. While having fun, we visit a number of New York locations (modelled on the real ones) and have a whole host of conversations. But we must that all actions that we undertake will have their own consequences, and during a game we often have difficult moral choices, including the need to decide about someone's life or death. Depending on the choices made, one of the three alternative endings of the story will also await us. The whole thing is focused on the plot and the main character, who in case of interaction with other characters, also has the opportunity to deepen selected relationships. However, we must not forget the ever-ending time on which millions of human beings can depend.

Technical issues

Published on PC CodeRed: Agent Sarah's Story features decent audiovisual quality. The creators from LivinThing studio managed to preserve the dark and captivating atmosphere of classic adventure games.
