The Aftermath is the second and last attempt to draw money from fans of Command & Conquer: Red Alert, under the guise of an official expansion of the game. Compared to the previous addition - Counterstrike - Westwood Studios programmers have shown more inventiveness, although it's still hard to talk about a revolution here....

The most eye-catching thing for fans of the game are, of course, the new units - here in the number of seven. Allies were enriched with Chronotank - a tank that allows to teleport permanently into any part of the board, Mechanics - able to repair units damaged in the fervor of combat and explosive trucks, loaded to the brim with nuclear warheads. The Soviets, on the other hand, introduced the latest inventions of Nikola Tesla: infantry and tanks attacking with the current, as well as an improved submarine, which is able to destroy ground targets. Additionally, both sides have MAD tanks, which, detonated in a selected part of the map, make a huge havoc. However, the most important feature of The Aftermath, which distinguishes it from Counterstrike, is that finally new units can be freely produced. In addition, the add-on offers 18 new scenarios for a single player and round 100 maps for Multiplayer mode. Missions are interesting and very difficult, making them a challenge for people bored with traditional campaigns. It's a pity that they didn't try to combine them into a whole - an accusation similar to Counterstrike, although it's still much better, as we won't see situations where after fifteen minutes of play, the game ends. The add-on is complemented by new songs, also saved in Audio format. If we have both extensions, the total number of all pieces increases to 35, and that's really quite a lot.
