Corpse of Discovery is a science fiction action adventure game for PC. The production was developed by Phosphor Games.
Plot
We assume the role of an astronaut who is a member of Corps of Discovery, an organization that discovers uncharted regions of space. Starting out, the protagonist wakes up inside a base located on an alien planet, not ing how he came to be there. He quickly discovers that his ship was destroyed and all his equipment was scattered in the surrounding areas. The player’s priority is to keep the hero alive, and secondly: to learn the truth about the mission’s objective and the events that led to its interruption. Our ultimate goal is to find a way to return home. The plot was designed not only to give a reason to play but also to offer an interesting story that revolves around such issues as loneliness or grief over the loss of loved ones.
Mechanics
In Corpse of Discovery for PC, we observe the on-screen events from the first-person camera. In the game, we can visit a large set on various planets, all of which have different environmental conditions and hazard. Moreover, their surfaces are randomly generated so every playthrough means new adventures.
The gameplay is focused on exploration and survival mechanics. It is required to avoid threats, gather necessary resources and items, and to take care of the equipment’s condition, especially the suit that protects the astronaut from alien planets’ atmospheres. While adventuring, we use a number of useful gadgets, including a jetpack that makes it easier to navigate and a computer-controlled drone.
