An atypical real-time strategy in which we run a fictitious anti-terrorist organisation. Our task is to detect and prevent planned attacks by arresting terrorists. Our and national shock troops and drones, as well as less ethical measures are helpful in detecting them.
Counter Terrorist Agency is a title that combines real-time strategy with simulation, in which we play the role of the head of a fictional counter-terrorism agency (CTA). The game was created by Play2Chill (formerly WarSaw Games) and was released in digital distribution by PlayWay.
As head of CTA, our task is to prevent terrorist attacks in Europe and America. For this purpose, on the world map we collect information from agents about suspicious activities: numerous queries for information about explosives, s with known terrorists, etc. We have drones and strike troops at our disposal, as well as the police of cooperating countries.
The game emphasizes decision making. Potential terrorists can be arrested, killed or observed for long periods of time. However, it is better not to wait too long, otherwise we may not be able to prevent an act of terror. On the other hand, rushed action may result in only the common of the organisation falling into our hands and the leaders slipping away. Often we will also be able to decide on morally questionable actions, torturing suspects, eavesdropping on private conversations between citizens or ordering the shooting down of a enger plane taken over by the terrorist.
Each successful operation will give us points required to develop the agency and improve relations with national governments. In this way we recruit more anti-terrorist units and drones, increase the effectiveness of agents or unlock useful special abilities.
Counter Terrorist Agency focuses entirely on single-player gameplay and does not offer a multiplayer mode.
Counter Terrorist Agency features two-dimensional visuals. Throughout the game we observe an interactive map of the world, where important information from agents appears. The game also has a full sound layer, which can be seen from eavesdropping conversations.
