Second stand-alone addition to the popular German puzzle game Crazy Machines from 2004. The game offers 101 new puzzles, in which we will use previously unavailable items. The developers also improved the game engine and interface and improved the graphics.
Crazy Machines: News in the Laboratory is the title of the second independent supplement to the Crazy Machines logical game from 2004. As in the case of the two previous editions of the series, the German development studio FAKT Software is responsible for its development. Distribution of the game in was again taken care of by Novitas Publishing.
The game does not introduce any revolution to the proven solutions of the series, borrowed from the popular in the 90's cycle The Incredible Machine. The whole is based on the concept of the Rube Goldberg machine, which assumes the creation of fancy devices from a set of predefined parts. The task of the players is to develop a machine that will perform the task set before us - starting from relatively simple constructions, to very complex mechanisms, using the basic laws of physics and different properties of the elements used.
The novelties in the Laboratory are the next 101 stages, with which players familiar with the mechanics of the cycle should not have any problems. Traditionally, the creators introduced several new objects, such as a rotor, toaster or programmable clock. Several improvements have been made to the game engine, the interface has been improved and the graphics have been improved.
In the following years the game was enriched by two free packages of challenges: Pack 2006 and ComLab. In 2007, based on the levels of News in the Laboratory and 101 Riddles, another "export" version of the series was prepared, known as Crazy Machines 1.5.
