Our game in Cyclopean: The Great Abyss begins with the process of drawing a character. The game generates for us a character equipped with basic skills, equipment, and alliances with select residents. If we don't like a given character, we can repeat the whole process until we achieve the optimal result.

Turn-based combat and avoiding battles

We watch the action in the game from two perspectives. While events on the surface are presented in a top-down view, once we go underground, a first-person camera (FPP) is activated.

The gameplay takes place in turn-based mode. Creatures from the dungeons often stand in our way, so we regularly fight against opponents. Depending on the character we play, we may also have other methods of dealing with enemies - from stealth, through dialogue and ending with diplomacy.

Alliances

Alliances with locals prove to be useful, especially in the early stages of the adventure, as they provide us with companions who are indispensable during our expeditions to the dungeons. Apart from the allies available at the start, the game allows us to find new ones by reading the appropriate books.

Character development

As we progress, we accumulate better equipment, which allows us to face bigger challenges over time. On the way, you need to pay attention not only to the contents of the purse or the level of health, but also to the indicator of the mental state of our character.

Graphics

The graphic design of Cyclopean: The Great Abyss is maintained in a monochromatic style reminiscent of dungeon crawlers from the 8-bit era. The game allows us to change the dominant color as part of its visuals.
