The console and definitive version of the popular mobile rhythmic-music game Cytus. Compared to the original, the title, which offers more than 200 songs, has been enriched with new content, interface and many other minor changes.
Cytus Alpha is an extended console version of the popular mobile music and rhythm game. The game was developed by Taiwanese studio Rayark, which specializes in games representing this particular genre. This studio is also known for creating Deemo. The Cytus series includes a total of two installments, which appeared in 2012 and 2018 on iOS and Android devices.
The action of Cytus Alpha takes place in the distant future. Humanity remains only in memory banks of robots equipped with artificial intelligence, which are the guardians of human heritage. Unfortunately, their ability to grasp the entire human knowledge, feelings, and memories has its limitations. That's why the robots learned to turn memories into music that is written in a special space called Cytus. During the game, players help a mechanical operator named Vanessa to convert further digital artifacts of mankind. While unlocking the next chapters of history, players gain access to a number of private news or fragments of media reports that shed light on the past of the in-game world.
As with all Rayark music games, the one described herein is designed with a touchscreen in mind. For the first time in the series, however, the developers also decided to fully the control model based on the use of physical console buttons. During the game, players listen to subsequent songs, hitting or dragging the icons appearing on the screen. After ing a song, players are judged by a game that takes into their accuracy and sense of rhythm. Alpha Citrus offers two difficulty levels - easy and difficult. The latter can be a challenge even for the most experienced veterans of the genre. Progress made during the game is recorded on the online scoreboards so that players can compare their results with others.
In addition to the standard single-player mode, Cytus Alpha also offers a multiplayer mode for up to two players who compete on a split screen.
Cytus Alpha features an extremely stylish and minimalistic audiovisual setting and interface. More than 200 pieces of music available in the game represent mainly many genres of electronic and instrumental music. Each of them is represented by a unique title card.
