Dark Envoy is an indie RPG by a Polish studio Event Horizon. The team was previously responsible for the warmly-received FTL: Faster Than Light.
Dark Envoy is set in a fantasy universe, where magic clashes with technology, and a human empire begins slowly overtaking the Old Races. The protagonists, Kaela and Kiros, are siblings, repairing their parents' airship to set out on a journey across the dangerous land.
The story is non-linear, with many aspects depending on our choices; which characters the siblings, whether the siblings survive, whether they become legendary heroes or infamous villains.
Dark Envoy makes use of the top-down perspective, though the camera can be moved and rotated. The world's divided into regions, traversible aboard the airship which serves as our mobile headquarters. There are plenty of main quests, side quests and events to play through. Visited locations, including procedurally generated dungeons, change overtime or as a result of our choices.
We'll encounter plenty of enemies, fought in real-time with an active pause. To succeed, we must think tactically and make good use of our party ' abilities. Progressing through the game lets us level up our characters; there are fifteen classes to check out, but the skills are scattered on different skill trees, encouraging experimentation.
Dark Envoy is built around its story campaign, playable solo or in two-player online co-op. The game also includes an additional PvP mode, letting us pit our party against other players' parties.

A new game from Event Horizon has debuted on GOG and Steam. The creators of the warmly received Tower of Tine come to us with a new steampunk RPG. There's no shortage of magic, either.
