Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil is a point-and-click adventure game, in which we play the role of a researcher of paranormal phenomena, whose task is to unravel the mystery of a haunted mansion. The title is the fifth (if we count the canceled Storm Warning) installment in the popular series developed by the independent studio Darkling Room.

Plot

Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil focuses on a haunted manor. During the game, the player takes on the role of one of the of a group of researchers of paranormal phenomena, whose task is to unravel the mystery of the building.

During the investigation, players move only in the attic of the building. The protagonist is completely alone there and the only he has with the rest of the group is a walkie-talkie. The rest of the building can be observed with the use of cameras.

Mechanics

Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil is a point-and-click adventure game, in which the action is presented from first-person perspective. The gameplay is based on exploring the attic, searching for items and solving simple puzzles. The player must also look for ghosts on the floor. For this purpose they receive special equipment such as a thermal camera and a recorder.

Additionally, the player can monitor the rest of the object with the use of security cameras and communicate with the rest of the researchers with the use of a walkie-talkie. The game is complemented by sequences showing events that have left their mark on the examined building.
