DCS WWII: Europe 1944 is a flight simulator that recreates World War II air battles. The game is the result of cooperation between Eagle Dynamics' Digital Combat Simulator and Flanker series and the RRG Studios team, founded by Oleg Maddox, the father of the IL-2 Sturmovik series.
According to the title, the production focuses on the virtual reconstruction of the clashes that took place in Europe in 1944. Special attention was paid to Landing in Normandy. All areas have been meticulously developed on the basis of contemporary satellite images, historical maps and photographs of the time. In every battle we can stand on either side of the conflict. There is also a multiplayer mode and an editor that allows you to create both single missions and whole campaigns.
DCS WWII: Europe 1944 focuses on realism. Each aircraft has been developed with great attention to detail, and its behavior in the air is governed by an advanced physical engine. The simulation is so accurate that players can only rely on authentic manuals for pilots involved in the clashes of World War II, instead of using the documentation provided with the game.
The strength of the game is artificial intelligence. The authors have developed a number of variants, so that we can fight not only against aces, but also yellow beetles. The course of the clashes is diversified by the dynamic weather system, which will affect the behavior of the machines and visibility.
DCS WWII: Europe 1944 is based on the Free-2-Play model. The basic version offers Normandy and three planes - Republic P-47D-28 Thunderbolt, Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX and Messerschmitt Bf-109K-4. Further machines and theaters will be available as paid modules.
