Deathrap for PC, PS4 and XONE builds on the mini-game featured in the hack-and-slash series The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. Gameplay is primarily about building guard towers (those come in different types – from the freezing ones to electrocuting, to deadly machines with spinning blades), which stop the incoming monsters. When starting the game you also pick one of several heroes available, who complements the defensive by killing all enemies in range. Each of the heroes has unique qualities and abilities, which lets you pick one that fits your play style best. As you play you earn points and spend them on upgrading the existing defensive devices or buying new ones, which allows you to stop ever more powerful enemies. Those come in different kinds, the most common of which are legendary creatures, such as gargoyles, as well as beasts created by mad scientists.

Technical aspects

As for the graphics, Deathtrap was built on the same technology that stood behind The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing series. Actually, this game looks almost identically on PC, PS4 and XONE as the second part of that trilogy, creating dark gothic/steampunk atmosphere.
