An independent action RPG with adventure game elements, inspired by such series as The Legend of Zelda and Dark Souls. Decay of Logos puts you in a fantasy world where family feuds of the royalty cause numerous problems to the rest of the realm. The player assumes the role of a young woman whose village gets destroyed by unidentified invaders wearing royal emblems on their armors.
Developed by the independent studio Amplify Creations, Decay of Logos for SWITCH, PC and etc. is an original mix of an action RPG and an adventure title. The creators drew inspiration not only from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and Nordic folklore, but also from the productions by the Japanese studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke) and the series like Dark Souls.
Decay of Logos takes the player to a classic fantasy world disrupted by endogenous problems. Just like the whole kingdom, the royal family lived a peaceful and decent life. The situation became complicated when the queen died during childbirth. The daughter that was born quickly became the apple of the king’s eye, and since her birth, he neglected his sons. Years ed, and the power-hungry sons started managing their lands.
This is when the player comes in. You assume the role of a young woman whose village gets ravaged by unidentified invaders. Being the only survivor, the girl seeks revenge and the only thing that can help her track the perpetrators is the royal emblem she saw on their armours. The protagonist travels North and thus sets out on a dangerous journey. Luckily, she is not alone, as she has Elk on her side – a mysterious being resembling a deer.
Decay of Logos released on SWITCH, PC and etc. utilises the third-person perspective. The village serves as a base from which you travel further into the fantasy world. By visiting particular areas, you reveal secrets they hide, find valuable items, and build relations with NPCs. The way you speak to them is important, as they will your behaviour, which may have consequences later in the journey.
Exploration is one of the most important aspects of the game. It is accompanied by many environmental puzzles – reaching different places requires cracking more or less complicated puzzles, finding a key, or cooperating with your bizarre friend. Initially, Elk distrusts the heroine, so you have to win his trust by feeding it and taking care of it. Over time, their relation strengthens, which translates into e.g. using the creature as a mount.
The production also features real-time combat. Defeating some of the opponents (especially gigantic bosses) takes both reflexes and tactical thinking. The girl is really flexible – she can dodge, vault, jump back, parry, and counterattack. Apart from melee weapons, you can make use of offensive and defensive spells.
The title introduces an extensive character development system – not only slaying enemies makes your statistics go up, but so does solving puzzles, and even finding well-hidden chests filled with treasures. Still, you need to that if hurt, the protagonist becomes weaker. In order to regain strength, you need to set up a camp, but keep in mind that even then she can be attacked.
Decay of Logos is an independent production powered by Unity. The 3D visuals are especially impressive due to the original, fairy style. The environment is colourful and very detailed, particularly lush vegetation.

Game Ratings for Decay of Logos Video Game.
Movies Games and Tech: 3 / 10 by Wil Raterman
It’s never enjoyable to read off a list of all of the things wrong with a game. I did my best to keep an open and optimistic mindset during my experience with Decay Of Logos. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find many good things to say and can’t recommend this title. It’s not necessarily a broken game, just very rushed and unfinished. The glitches, slowdown, and mundane collection of motifs that have been done to death don’t add up to anything worth seeking out.

Decay of Logos is an adventure that tests your patience more than your gaming skills.

This game is the bare minimum of what I considered a playable game. We’re in the “busy season” of game releases. Spend your money elsewhere.
