Deep Sky Derelicts for PC is a tactical role-playing game with turn-based combat system. It was developed by Finnish studio Snowhound Games.

Plot

The game is set in far future, when humanity has reached remote parts of the galaxy. These are not peaceful times; there are two social classes: the Citizens live prosperous lives and enjoy extensive rights, while the people with no citizenship have to fight for survival every day. You play as a leader of a group representing the latter category. You task is to search spaceship wrecks, hoping to earn enough money to afford the citizenship.

Mechanics

Deep Sky Derelicts for PC is a tactical RPG, in which you lead a team of three mercenaries. Every shipwreck is full of traps, monsters, and other threats. The interiors are randomly generated, so every time you find new challenges waiting for you.

Sometimes during exploration you encounter friendly NPCs, who can help you or trade with you, but most encounters result in turn-based battles. During those, you have full control of your team, and you can influence the outcome further by using randomly chosen cards.

You take the resources and money you can find by scavenging shipwrecks and searching corpses to you base, where they can be used to replenish your supplies or buy new equipment. You can also develop the mercenaries' skills by using experience points.

Game mode

Deep Sky Derelicts features two game modes, both singleplayer. Apart from the story campaign, there is also an arena variant, in which you fight increasingly powerful opponents.
