Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, released on PS3 and PSV, is a classic 2D fighting game. The production was created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko. The novels published under this banner by the Japanese company ASCII Media Works are extremely popular in their homeland and over the years have seen numerous animated adaptations, which are also known and liked in the West. The game was developed by French Bread - a studio specialized in fighting games, and the developer of Melty Blood series available for PC, consoles and arcades.

Mechanics

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax uses the crossover formula. In the game, we will find nearly 40 heroes from many of the flagship Dengeki Bunko series, such as Sword Art Online, Durarara! Shakugan no Shana, Toradora!, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Accel World, Spice & Wolf, Ro-Kyu-Bu! and so on. Guest appearances also include heroines from Valkyria Chronicles and Virtua Fighter games. The presented plot is only a pretext for fights between characters. We get to know the story thanks to short scenes made in the visual novel convention, which are displayed in the campaign between battles. Also, in Dream Duel mode, players can select one of the heroes and their opponent and watch short scenes depicting interactions between characters.
