Deus is an informal sequel to the original action simulation game Robinson's Requiem, created in 1994 by the famous French studio Silmarils, known primarily for its excellent cRPG Ishar series. Deus develops unique concepts, which surprised the original, while introducing several important novelties into the mechanics of the game.

In the game we play the role of Trepliev, a prize hunter known from the first part of the game, hired by the military organization Alien World Exploration. It explores foreign worlds that could be a mecca for the human race, suffering from the baby boom, pollution and depleted mineral resources of the Earth. The action takes place in 2165 and our goal is to save an important research station for the AWE mission, located on the planet Alcybiades, cut off from the universe. It turns out that the station was captured by a dangerous terrorist group called New Crusaders.

What distinguishes Deus and her predecessor from the whole mass of role-playing games is the incredible realism of the game, resulting from the original combination of advanced life simulation with elements of survival and classic RPG. Watching the action from the perspective of the first person, we travel around the world not very friendly to us in search of clues and information concerning the purpose of our mission. A quite substantial arsenal of 10 different weapons, from this primitive weapon such as knife, spear, axe or bow, on modern rifles, rocket launchers and laser guns, will help us survive.

In the game, however, we fight not only against terrorists, but above all against ourselves. Like the original, Deus offers an advanced system for monitoring health and basic life functions, and any neglect of any worrying indications can lead to our imminent death. During the journey, we must first of all meet our priority needs, such as eating, drinking or sleeping, avoid fatigue and coldness of the body, infections, viruses, etc., as well as the need for a healthy lifestyle. The standard game mode contains an impressive number of 22 causes that can lead to the death of our hero. For those who prefer adventure over advanced simulation, however, the authors have prepared a special action mode in which most of the simulation elements have been removed, focusing on plot and action.

Technically, Deus is an important step forward for Robinson's Requiem, which has been criticised for its ugly graphics and uncomfortable control. Three-dimensional graphics are made in high resolution SVGA. The poor sound layer of the original was also significantly improved. However, the mechanics of the game has not changed significantly, Deus is still a complicated and demanding game, designed for amateurs of simulation rather than lovers of easy and pleasant entertainment.
