Dinosaur Fossil Hunter is a first-person simulator in which we play the role of a paleontologist who travels around the world in search of fossil remains - the remains of dinosaurs. The game was developed by the Lublin-based studio Pyramid Games (creators of Occupy Mars: The Game). The publisher is PlayWay.

Mechanics

In Dinosaur Fossil Hunter, we observe the action from a first person perspective ( FPP). The game consists of exploring sites inspired by the USA (on foot or with the use of an off-road vehicle), as well as searching for and extracting fossils - we use various exploration (e.g. geo-radar) and excavation tools (e.g. pickaxe, shovel or chain saw, used for removing obstacles). The main goal of the game is to complete skeletons of different dinosaurs.

Once the fossils are extracted, we still have to clean them carefully. We can also learn something about the species of animal to which the skeleton belonged - information about this can be found on the hero's tablet. What is more, we can present our findings in a self-designed museum (we can match the interior design and arrange the found fossils in the stories of dinosaur life).

Game modes

We can only play Dinosaur Fossil Hunter alone. The core of the game is the single player mode.

Technical aspects

Dinosaur Fossil Hunter has decent three-dimensional graphics. Both the locations we visit and the characters present themselves well, although it is certainly not a game that sets new standards.
