Mechanics

The gameplay in Disgaea 2 PC is based on two elements. First element is exploration, and completing main and side tasks. These missions not only push the plot forward, but also allow gathering new weaponry and abilities. During the gameplay, our hero can recruit new party – each of them represents one of two hundred available specializations. Additionally, the owned equipment can be upgraded to suit the current needs. The second element is the battle system – this time, the developers listened to the complaints and suggestions voiced by the community, and so the combat system received numerous fixes and improvements, and is much less clunky than the one present in the first installment. The encounters are turn-based, with each participant making his moves and attacks during their turn.

Aside from the content present in the base version of the game, Disgaea 2 PC contains elements that were included in the PlayStation Portable version. This means a completely new story episode, starring a new hero – Axel. The game also includes new neutral characters, abilities, and items. The seasoned players can try new gameplay modes – Dark World and Land of Carnage – offering extra challenge. A number of new heroes is also included, who haven’t been included in the previous western releases – Dark Eclair, Gig, and Miabel.

Technical Aspects

When it comes to visuals, Disgaea 2 PC for PC maintains the flavor of PlayStation 2 titles. The PC edition can boast a higher screen resolution (as a result, two-dimensional elements look a bit better), control system that s keyboard and mouse, and improved interface.
