Release Date: January 15, 2013
A dynamic action game utilizing the third-person perspective. It's the fifth installment in the Devil May Cry franchise and also the reboot of the series. The game was produced by British studio Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West) and the process was supervised by Capcom. DMC: Devil May Cry takes place simultaneously in two worlds: the human one and the infernal one (Limbo).
“DMC: Devil May Cry” reboots one of the most famous series produced by Capcom. 10 after releasing the first part, the Japanese giant decided to refresh the series by involving British Ninja Theory studio, creators of “Heavenly Sword” and “Enslaved: Odyssey to the West”. It is worth noticing that the production process was watched closely by Japanese and American branches of Capcom. Therefore, veterans may find familiar elements and new players do not need to worry that they do not know previous parts.
“DMC: Devil May Cry” takes place in two worlds – the human and infernal (Limbo) ones where hordes of demons come through the interdimensional gates. Only uncompromising and vengeful warrior can face the danger. You play as Dante, a young but difficult man who lives a bit on the sidelines of society. His unusual fighting skills prove to be invaluable when facing the threat from another dimension. The game begins when Dante is attacked by a powerful demon, Hunter and rescued by a mysterious girl named Kat.
“DMC: Devil May Cry” is not very different from the original game published 2001. It is action packed spectacular TPP slasher. The main character draws a series of spectacular strikes when fighting with demonic beings, both on the ground and in the air. Eliminate the opponents with a diverse array of weapons, including sword Rebellion, pistols Ebony and Ivory, ax Arbiter and scythe Osiris.
One of the most interesting elements of the game is the ability to activate two special modes, i.e. angelic and demonic. This feature not only helps eliminating specific types of monsters but also solving puzzles. Dante can use chains to drag interactive objects. The game developers included Devil Trigger mode known from the previous parts. It makes Dane invincible for a few seconds.
The visual layer of “DMC: Devil May Cry” presents a high level of details with intriguing levels. The action takes place mostly in a hellish limbo dimension where its specific laws are applied. Dante’s attacks are accompanied with eye-catching visual effects, while the game features dynamic dubstep soundtrack.

For a game that wasn’t even planned, the first Devil May Cry turned out to be truly groundbreaking. Of course, this generated subsequent follow-ups. The history of the franchise is one big sinusoid, but that just makes the story all the more interesting.
