A standalone expansion for the 2013’s well-received survival sandbox game, Don’t Starve. The main goal of the add-on is to transfer the core premise of the original title into cooperative multiplayer gameplay. In the game, we still explore the world, gather food, build a shelter, fight various enemies, and take care of the protagonist’s physical and mental health.
Don’t Starve Together for PC, XONE and PS4 is a standalone expansion for the well-received fantasy survival sandbox entitled Reign of Giants and more.
Don’t Starve Together throws us into a wild, dangerous world in which our primary task is to survive as long as possible. The players assume the role of a character of their choosing—each is distinguished by a unique appearance, personality, strengths, weaknesses, and skills. Having started the actual game, we do what the original Don’t Starve has gotten us used to: build a shelter, gatherer food, explore the world, fight various creatures, and take care of the protagonist’s physical and mental health. The extensive crafting system also makes a reappearance and allows us to create useful items with the junk we find. Don’t Starve Together was enriched with the contents of Reign of Giants, a DLC released earlier on, so we can count on more bioms, new, powerful enemies, and a full year cycle (seasons adequately influence our chances to survive)
All of the above is complemented by interactions with other players who can to prove to be of invaluable help in the world full of dangers. Don’t Starve Together allows us to set up a private game that can be ed only by the friends we invite. Alternatively, we might as well try our luck with complete strangers.
Similarly to the original, Don’t Starve Together for PC, XONE and PS4 retains the characteristic cartoonish 2D graphics and an aerial camera. Despite its serious topic, the game offers a large dose of unique humor that matches the visuals.
