A refreshed and expanded version of the FPP action adventure game from 2017. Downward: Enhanced Edition features a pilgrim who travels the post-apocalyptic Earth seeking an artifact. We can use various parkour skills and we need to defeat many enemies along the way.
Downward: Enhanced Edition is a refreshed and enriched version of the action adventure game Downward, originally released in 2017. The development of this version was led by the authors of the original, namely the independent team Caracal Games.
Compared to the original, the new project stands out primarily due to improved graphics and new endings. The owners of the first version of the game can play the enhanced edition thanks to a free update.
The action of Downward: Enhanced Edition takes place a thousand years after the biblical apocalypse, which came in the Middle Ages. Although some managed to survive the annihilation, they failed to rebuild the former civilization. To make matters worse, the world is still plagued by deadly disasters. The main character of the game is a pilgrim traveling through a ruined world in search of a legendary artifact that can restore balance to the destroyed planet.
In Downward: Enhanced Edition we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The adventure takes place in an open world composed of diverse locations, such as the ruins of ancient buildings, huge canyons and gloomy undergrounds, as well as places where the laws of physics break down and large boulders freely float in the air.
Our pilgrim uses his parkour skills during exploration, which allow him to efficiently overcome terrain obstacles, slide on sloping surfaces or even use a zip line. The list of his abilities does not end there, because the hero can also grab onto special points using an energy beam. In addition to this, from time to time the pilgrim has to face opponents - powerful guards who stand in his way.
The driving force of the game are the quests waiting to be completed, and the path we take along the way affects how the entire story will end. As we progress, we gain experience, which serves us to improve the statistics and power of the character, and we also collect useful items and hidden treasures.
Downward: Enhanced Edition runs on the Unreal Engine.
