An arcade rally game from a Polish studio, inspired by the rallies and racing games of the 1990s. #DRIVE Rally offers a unique cartoonish graphics style, a career mode and a funny co-pilot who besides reading the notes also comments on our progress and makes jokes.
#DRIVE Rally is an informal sequel of the game #DRIVE, released by the Polish studio Pixel Perfect Dude in 2019, initially only for mobile devices. In the second installment of the series, the developer primarily focused on "large" hardware platforms, changing the gameplay formula and its theme.
It is a light, humorous and caricatural look at rallies, intended to pay tribute to the 1990s, both in relation to earlier rally games and the motorsport discipline itself.
Unlike the original #DRIVE, in the game described here we watch rallying from a camera hanging closely behind the car or even placed inside the cockpit. The driving model is arcade - the vehicles have no tendency to slide and are easy to control.
The light approach of the creators is best evidenced by the co-pilot, who turns out to be much more talkative than in most rally games. Not only does he read the notes, warning us about turns and other important parts of the stage (like big jumps), but also encourages us to fight, scolds us for mistakes made, and even makes casual remarks of a general nature - all in a humorous tone.
#DRIVE Rally does not include licensed cars, but the available models - despite their slightly exaggerated proportions - are easy to recognize famous "rally classics", like the Audi Quattro (Das Sandsturm) or the Peugeot 205 (The Bobond). They can be modified by changing body parts or covering the body with stickers.
The basis of the game is the single-player career mode. In it, we have several teams to choose from, which we can lead to victory. In each of them we start with a different car and a different co-driver by our side. The competition takes us to places like , Finland, and the USA.
A distinguishing feature of #DRIVE Rally is its cartoonish graphic design, which goes well with the light theme of the game.

#DRIVE Rally delivers on its intentions to be a fun, arcade rally racer. You can quickly get into a race if you are short on time or are just looking for something less demanding than a more realistic rally racer.
Press Start: 7.5 / 10 by Steven Impson
Outside the co-drivers, I enjoyed my time with Drive Rally. While the career mode is bare bones, the actual rally driving is wonderful. It strikes a balance between being approachable and having the depth to keep you playing and improving. Well worth a look if you miss the glory days of 90s era rally games.
