Release Date: December 10, 2018
A game created by Dawid Szymanski, an indie developer, in collaboration with New Blood Interactive. The game represents the action genre and was inspired by the classic games that came out in the 90s. The plot in DUSK is only an excuse for flashy and brutal gameplay, and during the game we have to face hordes of enemies with supernatural abilities.
DUSK, available on PC Windows, is a creation of an indie developer – Dawid Szymanski and was released by New Blood Interactive. The developer took inspirations from classic games from 1990s' such as the first Redneck Rampage. Players have to face not only mysterious cultists but also dark forces that are out of this world. However, the plot is only an excuse for effective and brutal gameplay.
DUSK is a shooter where the action is presented from first person perspective. During the singleplayer campaign, divided into episodes, we face hordes of enemies with supernatural powers. We have access to various weapons such as pistols, machine guns or grenade launchers but we can also use sickles and crossbows. The levels are diverse: we can choose from a modern city infrastructure, churches to dark undergrounds. During the game we face diverse enemies – besides well-equipped soldiers we can also fight against crazy and hooded cultists. It should also be mentioned that fights are very brutal.
Besides the campaign we can also play a competitive multiplayer (arena for two players) and Endless Survival Mode in which we have to face subsequent hordes of enemies.
The graphics in DUSK, available on PC Windows, refers to the games from 1990s'. Because of that the game doesn't look very impressive although it can evoke a sense of nostalgia. The game's soundtrack was created by Andrew Hulshult – the author of soundtracks for Brutal DOOM and Rise of the Triad.

Players prefer to shoot in open-ended worlds, but they used to traverse complex mazes full of secrets. Doom-like games have greatly evolved, but as it turns out, new shooters inspired by Quake, Hexen or Duke Nukem 3D are still being created.
Unity's retreat from most of the controversial changes to the engine's of use has been welcomed by game developers. However, many of them stress that they have lost trust in the company.

Screen Rant: 4 / 5 by Rob Gordon
Dusk provides those pining for the first-person shooters of the 1990s with a reason to celebrate, including fast-paced action and buckets of blood.
ZTGD: 9 / 10 by Ken McKown
Dusk is the kind of game I could not help but smile while I was playing it. Every level was a treat to play and the accessibility options really open it up to so many people. The attention to detail in this port is also super appreciated. It really takes advantage of the hardware while not compromising the original concept. This is a game that every fan of shooters needs to play, and I cannot recommend it enough. Get your boomer shooter pants on (or off) and buy Dusk!
Nintendo Enthusiast: 8.5 / 10 by Arthur Damian
Regardless of the few issues, though, Dusk is a pleasure to experience. It's optimized wonderfully for Switch, the sound design is exceptional, weapons and power-ups are unique and a joy to use, and there is a lot of variety between levels. In addition, the game has an Endless mode, complete with a stage inspired by Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64. And if you preordered the title, you get access to Dusk '82, an 8-bit demake prequel that's actually pretty neat. All in all, Dusk stands together with Doom and Quake as a formidable FPS.
