EA Sports FC 24 is a football-focused sports game and the successor to the FIFA series originating from 1993. Just like the aforementioned series, it was developed by EA Sports. Its title was changed due to the end of a deal with the International Association Football Federation. The game's cover features Erling Haaland, a striker from the British club Manchester City.
Just like FIFA, EA Sports FC 24 revolves around football. We can play single matches or an entire career as a team coach or a specific player.
EA Sports FC 24 brings back the Volta Football (inspired by street football) and Ultimate Team modes. The latter once again lets us create our own team using purchased or randomly drawn card packets. One major change in Ultimate Team is the introduction of hybrid teams - letting us mix and match female and male players. The team synergy system remains unchanged, still rewarding use of same-league or nationality players.
Another significant change is the introduction of Ultimate Team Evolution, which lets us upgrade our players by meeting specific criteria. This means we no longer need a squad consisting of superstars to put up a good fight. Moreover, our players' overall ratings are no longer their only important trait - EA Sports FC 24 makes playstyle play a big role as well, as different configurations affect our team's behavior.
The game features full licenses for over 19k players, 700 teams, 100 stadiums and 30 leagues. EA Sports FC 24 thus contains teams from the most famous leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Series A, Bundesliga) and less popular ones (K League). There's also more space for female competition, introducing such leagues as the UEFA Women's Champions League.
The game runs on a new version of the Frostbite engine, accurately representing the players' appearances, movements and the shifting of their clothes. Unlike the most recent FIFA games, the Nintendo Switch version of EA Sports FC 24 doesn't omit any content except for cross-play functionality. The game is, however, adapted to successfully run on the console.
In contrast, the PC and ninth-gen console versions implement HyperMotionV tech, using volumetric data from over 180 different matches, meaning the players move very realistically (including over 1,200 running styles).
