Tactical science fiction RPG. The production offers several unique heroes, a turn-based combat system and a plot that we can shape with our own choices. Sixth Vowel, an independent studio, is responsible for the development of this title.
Element: Space is a tactical RPG set in a classic science fiction universe. The production offers a turn-based combat system and a non-linear plot that is shaped by the choices made by the players. Sixth Vowel, an independent studio, is responsible for creating this title and it is his debut project. The publisher is Blowfish Studios.
In Element: Space we take on the role of Captain Christopher Pietham, who is framed in a terrorist attack. To clear our name, we'll have to discover a dangerous conspiracy. At stake in this game is the fate of the entire race - and perhaps even the entire universe.
In Element: Space action is most often observed from above - from the isometric perspective. The game consists in playing successive missions, which require us to fight in a turn-based combat system, which was designed in such a way that mastering the basics was easy, but achieving the championship required a lot of effort.
During the game, we also have to make decisions that shape the rest of the story and our relationships with other team . In the production we will find several unique characters - each of them uses a different kind of skills, and their proper combination is of key importance. We also have the ability to collect equipment (or gain it by improving reputation with different factions) and learn new skills. The latter include both powers that we can use in combat and ive reinforcements that allow us to specialize the hero and develop our own style of play.
An important role is also played by manoeuvring and taking the right position - we can flank our opponents and hide behind the curtains. Often we also have to decide when to better keep our opponents at a distance and when we can afford to go to short circuit and quickly eliminate all enemies.
In addition to combat, the Sixth Vowel team's production also offers real-time map exploration.
Element: Space can only be played alone. The core of the gameplay is a feature campaign, but we also have Extinction Mode, which is designed for players who want a bigger challenge.
Element: Space has a pleasant, three-dimensional graphic design. Character and environmental models have a good level of detail, although it can be seen that the title does not try to compete with the industry leaders in of technology. The artistic style, which has been maintained in the atmosphere of science ficiton, also makes a positive impression.

Player2.net.au: by Shaun Nicholls
“While there is an interesting premise to Element Space the game-breaking bugs and clunky design choices make it a mission just to survive the game, let alone enjoy it.”

While having clear intentions and ideas, this port fails to deliver on a grand scale

If Element Space worked as intended, it would be a fairly bland but otherwise playable tactical RPG. You know, one of those games that you might pick up because its 75% off on Steam. A game that you wouldn’t quite call “good,” but it isn’t so bad that you’d go through the trouble of asking Father Gaben for a refund. Unfortunately, “doesn’t work as intended” is the definition of “normal” for Element Space.
