The game is once again set in the magical world of Illis, in which elves are trying to restore the former glory of their race. Meanwhile, someone is trying to gain access to an ancient magic, the Great Tree, which grants the ability of reincarnation.
Mechanics
The game features e.g. two campaigns, in which you can play as the leader of either the army of elves or the army of men. Moreover, there is also a range of bonus missions, in which you can lead, among others, the orcish forces. Those missions become available upon completing the main missions within a given time. Compared to the Russian original game, Elven Legacy in the West, distributed by Paradox interactive, features additional 3 campaigns, which expand the gameplay. The campaign missions, even though they're linked by a plot, are non-linear.
Elven Legacy features new characters, unique abilities and skills, spells, battle units, and artifacts. The AI algorithms have been upgraded, and new tactics have been added. Furthermore, the game features an editor, which allows you to create your own missions and scenarios, which you can play in the multiplayer mode.
